Lip Dissolving

A safe and effective way to remove unwanted, overfilled, migrated or poorly placed lip filler. Option to refill with us afterwards. A consultation is required before any dissolving can take place.

Instead of dermal filler, this treatment uses a small amount of Botox® at the corners of the mouth and above the cupid’s bow to ‘flip’ the upper lip outwards for a fuller, plumper upper effect. Prescription required for line relaxer.

Our results speak for themselves

Today was my first time having a cosmetic procedure, and I am also scared of needles so I was extremely nervous as this was a huge deal for me! Kate made me feel so comfortable from start to finish and put my mind at ease, always checking I was ok. I am very happy with my first lips and will definitely be back when it’s top up time!

Frequently Asked Questions

How many MLs of lip filler should I get?

The amount of lip filler needed will depend on your current lip shape and the result you are seeking. At Face Things First, we will never unnecessarily overfill lips. Stunning and natural-looking results can be achieved with a small amount of product and correct placement. We can discuss the amount of filler we recommend for your facial and lip shape at a consultation.

Does lip filler hurt?

Lip enhancements are minimally invasive but we do use a needle or cannula to administer the product. Depending on your pain threshold, you may experience mild pain or discomfort during treatment. If you are worried or anxious, a topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand.

How safe are lip fillers?

Lip filler is safe if an aesthetics practitioner uses a safe, high quality product. It is made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally substance found in the body. Unfortunately, the dermal filler market is unregulated. Always ensure your aesthetic practitioner uses dermal filler from a reputable manufacturer.

Can lip filler go wrong?

Lip filler isn’t a beauty treatment. It is a medical cosmetic procedure and does have some rare side effects and complications, particularly if the product is incorrectly injected into an artery. As the aesthetics industry in the UK is unregulated, there are so many inexperienced, untrained or non-medical people administering lip filler in beauty salons or at home. Always ensure your aesthetics practitioner is medically-trained, fully insured and has the correct medical kit to deal with any complications.

Can you dissolve my old lip filler?

Overtime, lip filler can migrate or spread above the top lip, leading what some would call the ‘trout pout’ look. This commonly occurs if lips are routinely overfilled using too much product. The body eventually breaks down dermal filler, but if you are unhappy with how your lips look, we can dissolve old filler using an enzyme called Hyalase. Lips can then be refilled by us to create a more natural-looking result.

Can I get lip filler while pregnant or breastfeeding?

There is no research or clinical trial into the safety of dermal fillers during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Due to this, it is advised to avoid them until after the baby is born or you have stopped breastfeeding.
